About Me
Summary
I am a highly motivated and skilled graphic designer seeking challenge in a fun, exciting and
inspiring environment.
Skills
I have a passion for print design, identity, publication, and especially typography.
I can do web design, HTML, PHP, MySQL, and some Flash.
I am proficient in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver.
I’m familiar with QuarkXPress, After Effects and Flash.
Education and Awards
I obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with a major in Graphic Design from
The Art Institute of Houston in December of 2008. I graduated with honors.
I was awarded the Quarterly Scholarship Award from The Art Institute of Houston
in Spring of 2007 for exemplary work.
I won a Coveted Memorial Ralph Award at The Creative Summit in March of 2008.
My work will be featured in the Graphis New Talent Annual to be published in 2009.
Experience
I worked as a ImPress Associate for OfficeMax from July 2005–December 2008.
My job was to oversee copy and print production, manage production scheduling,
finishing, and vendor orders, light graphics and pre-press production. As supervisor
I was involved in hiring, managing employees and department concerns, as well as
training new managers and employees for the Houston/Louisiana district.
I was given the opportunity to design the Art Institute of Houston 2008–09 College
Catalog from January–July 2008. Working together with one other designer, we
were given near total control of the book’s concept and layout. The 140-page book also
includes original photography, illustration, and—of course—lots of great typography!
I was asked to design a logo for Certified Emergency Nursing in June of 2008.
My job was to take their old identity, throw it out the window and create a fresh and stunning new logomark to use on their apparel and collateral.
